Littleton Elks Donation to Nourish Meals on Wheels Will Feed 1822 Homebound Adults in the Littleton Community
The Littleton Elks car show was held on August 13, 2023 to kick off Western Welcome Week. The Committee raised money throughout the year during Bingo nights at the Lodge, an ice cream sundae bar, and a dinner event. All costs of the show were offset by these programs so that sales could be donated to Nourish Meals on Wheels.
“Every year it warms my heart to see the amount of time and dedication our volunteers put in to make this show a success. There is simply no better way to spend a beautiful summer day than admiring over 200 beautiful classic cars all while raising money to help serve those in need.” said Danielle VonFeldt, PER, Head Chair of #1650 Car Show.
In total, the Littleton Elks were able to donate $9,109.99 to Nourish Meals on Wheels, which is located just three miles from the Lodge.
“We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our community partner, the Littleton Elks Lodge #1650. They have contributed nearly $50,000 to Nourish Meals on Wheels over the past decade,” said Nancy Falk, Executive Director, Nourish Meals on Wheels.
“Our staff and volunteers were brought to tears this year when they presented us with a record shattering $9,109.99! Words can’t express how much we value our partnership. To put on a large-scale Car Show that brings together the community for a day of fun, music and philanthropy is no easy task and, somehow, they do that flawlessly every year.”
This year’s donation will feed 1,822 elderly and homebound adults in the Littleton community.
